Escaping the City to Eastbourne

For Londoners trying to get a break from the city without having to travel too far or spend too much money, Eastbourne makes a great escape to unwind.

Eastbourne is a quiet but proud coastal town on the South East of the UK – between Hastings and Brighton. The locals are full of smiles, relaxed and very helpful, which one can really appreciate after working in the City five days a week. There are plenty of well-priced bed and breakfasts scattered across the town. On this occasion I decided to use Airbnb and stayed with Cheryl at Sovereign Guest House where I was excellently hosted. If you like a good walk and can enjoy a traditional and friendly pub to relax then I would recommend you go. When I was there I walked 25km to and from Seven Sisters, which has spectacular views. I recommend you bring comfortable shoes and perhaps something to keep you warm as it does get a bit windy, especially if you’re not going in the summer.
